The Fast Break - Shedding Holiday Pounds.

I gained a bunch of unwanted weight in the month of December. It all started with finals since I wasn't running on breaks needing that time to work on papers and whatnot. After finals, I was just lazy, but I got back to the gym and brought my spare tire along. The worst part about all this is my abs were very flat and very defined before this all happened. It just goes to show you how hard you have to work to achieve the level of fitness you want and how fast it can go away.

The past 2 weeks, I've been running a lot and doing to strength training. I figured I'd lose the weight first then rebuild muscle.

That all ended today. For my workout I did about 10 minutes on the Elliptical. 5 easy 5 intense. Then worked out chest and triceps. I don't do conventional sets and I don't exactly do circuits either. I like to mix it up.

I learn most of the elements of my routines from Scooby. His website and awesome and free and really helpful. I don't know this guy personally, but despite is massive and defined upper body, he seems to be more about being healthy than being a monster in the gym.

First chest, and I do this exactly the same way:

I do the Chest Workout 2 times in a row with 1 minute rest in between. I use a 15 lbs dumbbell. Then I do a triceps "circuit." I start out with 25 dips. I use the arms of 2 side by side treadmills but you can use, chairs, or a dip station, or even lean back on a bench.

Then I do the rope pull downs and then the behind the head dumbbell press. I Do as many of each as I can and go from exercise to exercise with no rest. After all 3 I rest for 1 minute and do the whole thing again.

For the rest of the workout I stretch and shower. I'm tired
